Adult Day Care & Senior Center

Aging is a blessing and a celebration. For many seniors who come from refugee or immigrant communities, however, living in a culture, language, and community so different than the one they grew up with can be isolating and stressful. We look to our elders to follow their footsteps and example of how to navigate life; who do immigrant seniors look to when they are the first in their family to grow old so far from home?

At Jin Huo Community Senior Center (JHC), we seek to honor the seniors of Northeast Ohio’s immigrant and refugee populations by building a caring, active community. Seniors can socialize, exercise, and receive care in their native language and culture, as well as being introduced to the cultures of their neighbors.

JHC serves as an adult day care with weekly programming, culturally specific hot lunches, and facility activities such as an exercise room and game room.

Social workers and health professionals guide seniors through positive mental, physical, and nutritional health practices.

Seniors can sign up for social outings and field trips to parks and excursions to enrich their experiences and enjoyment outside of the daycare center.

Seniors at the day care are given hot, nutritious, and culturally specific lunches.

At Jin Huo Community, providing individuals of all races, cultures, and statuses with culturally inclusive and intentional care is our passion and mission. We recognize that systemic inequity impacts the well-being and care of elders and address this by establishing programs that help seniors of all backgrounds find community and access resources to alleviate socioeconomic challenges and isolation. We are committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion throughout our workforce, organizational culture, and clientele as both a goal of continual betterment and a celebration of the diverse cultures and backgrounds of Northeast Ohio.
